Got a few personal demons to beat?
So I'm leading a church, and it's the kind of church where people invite their friends. "Oh, I know you aren't interested in church, but this church is different. The people are acutally normal (even though we call non-christians normal people), and the music is great. Come and give it a shot."
I love that. A lot.
So how do you lead a church like that and give a message about demons? That's what I'm up against this week. It makes me pause . . .
You know, I've found jumping in feet first is best, but make sure lots of ordinary explaining goes into it. I'll probably find out that the very people I'm afraid are going to 'freak out' will be the ones after church saying, "Let me tell you what happened to me. There's no doubt in my mind about the spirit world, and don't try to tell me there isn't evil lurking there! I've experienced it."
As for me, well my experience walks hand in hand with what the bible teaches. I've sure had my demons to beat. I just wish they would never come back, you know what I mean? The easy part to me is overcoming the strong man and taking his possesions. The hard part is relaxing and then the boogers come back in force. Seems to get me a lot.
